Lapel and Handheld Microphones
A presenter will generally ask for one of two types of microphone. A lapel (sometimes called a lavalier microphone) clips to the lapel of the presenters clothing, and allows gesticulation… and hands-free presenting. A Handheld microphone offers a better sound for environments with a lot of background noise. Handheld microphones are also commonly used for ‘Roving Microphones’ for question and answer sessions.
